My kiddo and I went to the pool after school because it’s still 90 degrees here. It felt a little weird to make a soup. I poured it over basmati rice because that’s what I have, added fresh jalapeño to mine, and it’s freaking delicious. So so so good.
You are a magical mind reader! I was desperate to make white chili yesterday, but the hubs was not into it. As I was pulling out the first pan, friends showed up from out of town and took us out to Mexican food. I told my guy, “Tomorrow I make the chili!” And he seemed fine with it. NOW I can make this numminess! Thank you! 🙏
I’m with you. Any time is good for a chili or soup. I just made a big pot of chili the other day. When it’s gone I’ll have to try this as written, or at least steal ideas from it.
Making this one today, perfect! I crave Grapery grapes year round and they’re only available for two or three months out of the year. Specifically August-October, and moon drop grapes.
This looks amazing! Question though - ‘garlic granules’ says the stuff in the jar to me, but the recipe directions say fresh garlic. Does it matter which? Oh and my biggest out-of-season craving is strawberries (always jonesing for strawberries) followed very closely by nectarines.
Ahh, not the jar stuff. It’s a coarser grind than garlic powder. I like it better than powder and think it brings a different but complimentary flavor the fresh garlic. If you don’t have it, garlic power is fine.

Looks like the perfect way to use some of those fresh hatch chilies I just bought... AND the forecast says cooler weather this week!
Great idea!
Ughhh my dream is to go to the hatch chili roast in New Mexico. They’re the best, right?
Yes!! We were out that way a couple of years ago, but sadly not during pepper season

We’re all becoming one mind in here and I love that for us!

This soup is delicious! I love brightness the lime zest brings to the dish. A perfect late summer meal.
I am dying for soup season!!! I adore hominy.. twist my arm to make a 1 pot meal and have leftovers for the week ❤️
I was *just* looking at that can of hominy in the pantry yesterday, wondering what to do with it... problem solved!
I sensed your need!

Mmmmmmmm .... it’s cool enough today to make this, but I need the power to come back on after the storms Thursday!
Nooooo!! I never want to cook more than when I know I can’t. Hope the power comes back soon ❤️
Maybe recipes for camp stoves in the 6th book....
