An AI recipe? Oh hellz to the fooken NO! I'll stick with real live people with real live taste buds for recipes. I'd be very happy to see legislation requiring disclaimers on recipes like they do with GMO and nonGMO vegetables so I know what to stay away from. That said I'll stick with Bad Manners recipes and cookbooks cuz not only do they taste great but the writing is damn fantastic.
Middle fingers raised all the way to AI. Mal-information indeed. Put down the phone/unplug the computer, open a cookbook, ANY cookbook (but maybe start with MFK Fisher?), and just cook. Your brain works just fine. Trust it.
I already hate trying recipes that come from an unknown source. I have spent too much wasted time making a recipe that ended up tasting like shit! Or worse yet, bland. Once I know a source doesn't actually make the recipe before sharing it with the world, I never use them again (side eye to Blue Zones). That's why I'm a Bad Manners subscriber. Great recipes, with a lot of hard work perfecting them before shared. Thank you for all you do.
Lol my husband sends me recipes he see on the internet all the time. If it’s not from my chosen few of creators, we ain’t makin it.... their pic might look good, but they probably made it once and couldn’t replicate it. I don’t have time for that...
Spell check, driver-assistance dings, bells, tone assistance, and even calculators. All these do is keep us from using our brains. Anyone else out there who can no longer do easy math in their head, can't spell, recall phone numbers, or even drive defensively? Perhaps AI is ushering in the day when humans think robotically. Not going there willingly.
i was thinking the other day about how you used to know which of your friends was scatterbrained by how they gave you directions. alas, now we defer to robots and never learn how to actual get anywhere.

I do work in AI and this is one of the few sensible takes, imo, that I’ve seen.

People are so capable when they just use their damn brains. Love MFK Fisher. How to Cook A Wolf is high art and everyone should read it.
