BEST outfit EVER (with the best name), Who Gives a Crap! recycled paper products and half of their profit goes to building toilet facilities in underdeveloped countries. check it out: whogivesacrap.org
Bought me a Tushy bidet before the pandemic and, living solo, an 8 pack of recycled pulp toilet paper lasts me more than a year (this includes using it to clean up cat barf, since I have no other disposable paper products in my apartment).
Handkerchiefs have completely replaced Kleenexes, saving me that money and garbage.
Basically, I’ve mostly purged everything from my life which is one-and-done.
Who gives a crap is awesome. I have them send me a giant box once a year. We usually use cloth for our paper towel needs, but we have their bamboo paper towels for the gross stuff. We use their bamboo TP as well. Since bamboo forests regenerate so much faster than trees, they are a great alternative to wood pulp.
OK, so I once heard that each baby should be presented with an entire dump truck load of disposable diapers upon majority. Now, how about adult diapers? They're bigger, too.
Saving myself: usually I have to get up a time or two a night, and when I do I need to prevent pee on my floor. So, I keep some old, broken underpants on my bedside table, folded up. I grab one, shove it where it'll do the most good (NOT inside, you silly goose!) and waddle to the toilet. Wash hands, wash diaper, go back to bed. And yes, I do sleep bottomless.
I switched to cloth napkins when my partner and I moved into a new house. So glad I made the switch. Also reusable pads for skin care have been a game changer recently. I don't have enough so I am also going to take an old t-shirt and cut it up into small rounds.
When my dad died in 2008, I took his tons of cotton t-shirts home and sliced them into wash cloth and handkerchief sizes and use them for twice-a-day for face rinsing (followed by moisturizer), application of cheap white Heinz vinegar from Costco (a great sub for deodorant; it WORKS), small clean-ups, and more. Use each once, hang to dry, and put in a whites only laundry bag. When I wash my face after using makeup, I use a terry wash cloth and coconut oil. Cloth only for napkins. Haven't bought paper towel in maybe 30 years. Haven't bought tissues in 15 years. Have tons of kitchen towels and cloths. Use terry wash cloth for patting dry after bidet. Do laundry every 2 weeks, and each load has more towels and cloths than clothing! Use 2 or 3 rolls of TP per year for company.
Thanks for the link to the “Swedish Towels”! I have been using cloth napkins and washable dish cloth’s for dishes, for a very long time but paper towels have become over used in my family…these will help get us away from them thanks!!
I buy unpapertowels from Marley’s Monsters. Also use them as napkins. Along with reusable facial rounds. The have many many paper replacement items. https://www.marleysmonsters.com/
My bestie though raised in the US was born in the Philippines 🇵🇭. She recently told me about something they call a tabo. A little like the bidet I’d say. Had never heard of it before!
Late to the party here, but I can vouch for the quality & durability of the Grove dishcloths. They are nice & thick, wash well (washing machine or dishwasher), and they last forever! Those & some reusable cloth paper towels have cut our paper towel usage down to nearly nothing! Love this & your let's kick our plastic habit post!
just adding to my loudly hollered recommendation for Who Gives a Crap... they do have bamboo products in addition to recycled paper, and they do a LOT of good in the world. do yourself and the world a favor by giving them a try! again, that's: whogivesacrap.org you'll love them!💞

Well I’ve always known you were awesome but this just cements it

Bamboo is incredible and so underused! Love the recommendation

Cutting up old t-shirts in a great tip!

This is gorgeous. You’re the gold standard ❤️
Thanks, Michelle! Tons of other examples. I'm a bonafide fanatic!
We love our cheap bidets! Only $40 and they get the job done. We even put one in our travel trailer ☺️
Great idea on the baby washcloths; I made my own cosmetic rounds by sewing three layers of flannel together.
Travel bidets are a must! I hate being without one now. Makes me feel gross

They’ve helped me so much. Let me know what you think

Order my Swedish dish cloths and will order TP from who gives a crap when we need to refill! Thanks for the tips!
